Well I thought I'd make this last post about Vulkan, and the fact I can't be arsed to maintain this blog very well. I guess I'll see what transposes and maybe start it again. or not.

one more post for today

One more post before bed. I assembled a nice World Eater Dreadnought, and managed to do his paint in a dirty white scheme that was very very easy to do, and replicate. The only way to make it easier is to prime white.
Well, I figured the posts of a nights work on putting all the pieces together. It has a gravaton gun in the claw hand because its legion killing at its best. Followed by a Kheres Reaper Rotary Cannon for all your rending needs.
There is still a part or two I need to fix, but that can wait until its dry, or I get a weekend. Once done I will seal it, and then blood splatter it a bit, and muddy the feet. I do wish I had some corpses for it to stand on.
Also, I hope the pose isn't too falling forward. from the front he looks bad ass and that's all that matters. Anyone know where I can find some Tyranid casualties? I have a few more of these to build. hmmm. I wonder if my friend Ian has a few he can spare......

well I missed a few days, but on the upside, I have been busy

well I'll keep it fast. this week has been a drop pod, My wife's chibi Leman Russ. More Salamanders, a libby to get in the mix, and the rest of my 10 man squad. Oh and my last tauros, because, its a tauros.

Pics of the most chill cat out there, Doodles. he may have a gimpy paw, but he is just as fast as any other cat.

making some more pictures.

Oh Hai: come for more cat pictures I see. well lets get started. so I'm working on a IG force, and now they are getting a refresh I have them in a holding pattern as I finish up the troops I have in production: 5 guardsmen and 1 tauros. I get back to cracking on my Salamanders. they need bases, but they are not here yet so I work with what I have.

So only the ashmantle is based, and in a rubble type base I had lying around for years. So I've been fairly busy making some salamanders, do i want them drop pod or in rhinos. I think I have enough to do either.
Yes I have a lot of books, most are good, some are not. all are because I read a lot.
SO I leave you to some more pictures as well its Saturday and I want to paint.

in sickness and delay

well this is a quick post, honestly, the cold knocked me for a loop and work keeping me running I've not had as much time as I wanted to write this. so I'll keep it short today. I'm still painting, the IG side is slowed because well IG forces are getting a new codex and before I keep up with my army plans, I want to know if I should be going strong with them.
At least I managed to get a gift mostly done for a friend. felt good to do so as well. Also, in the background there is a box of Tactical marines, 2 boxes of new and 1 box of old. I hope to make a decent go of all of 3 tac squads I need.

So after a few nights work, I got a few troops done. I wish dear reader I had more to post, but Ive just been kicked to the curb by this cold. By the time this airs I have a complete tac squad, a hq, a dreadnaught, and librarian. that leaves, 2 tac squads, and 1 squad of terminators,2 more dreadnaughts. and some various other units. then, once those are done I hope to have my bases for everything so i can base the living snot out of it, and then done. that will be my salamanders. hopefully.

and away go the salamanders

Well, I did it, I started with a dreadnaught, now I have a captain done, and 5 man squad.. why you ask, because I am painting and enjoying it more then the guard. But everyone came for the kitten pictures right?

Well there will be some of those too. but as it stands. I have a few pics and not a lot to say. so I'll post the picture and comment as needed.

First pic. well.I painted a Vulcan He'san tonight. I love the cape. His spear needs a lot of work still, but I'm on. I don't have bases for these guys yet. once I do I'll rebase them. I also cheated and used a metallic paint for the green so I can get them ready faster. and well, it gives me a happy feeling to watch them get built so much faster now.

My first squad of Salamanders. no FW shoulder pads, but, I have a few of these squads to do and I'm ok with one squad being decals. it keeps me humble. and means more money for the other things like FW landspeeders. or landraiders or sicarn thanks... yes I am looking that far out.

My gift for a friend is nearing completion.just have a few washes to do and purity seal. then box it and go. oh right and I have to do that damn cape too. well that won't take long. that's tomorrow's project. I do apologize for keeping this short, but I have to work tomorrow and I want to get and early night. so one more or two more cat pictures and then I'm out

Good week humble reader.

another post.

well today is post number 5. lets keep this up. well today has proven a great day of work.and tonight I hope to have a great time of painting more goram guardsmen as I watch arrow. next time I choose a horde type army someone shoot my ass. but I am enjoying the tanks and buggies. plus the commissars like chaplains I enjoy with a sick perversion.  maybe its the black, or the fact they don't take shit from no one.

Ignore the dvds. I was young and I thought some of it was good at the time. now its all about the netflix. so I've got a very new chaplain here from the dark vengeance box set. and he was a lot of fun to paint and put together for that matter. I can't wait until gw does all its heroes as the new clamshell plastic single.  I for one would like to redo Cassius in plastic. Finecast can byte me. but I atleast have him now and I can continue my tyranic war veterans at another time.
That being said I still have them in metal and I should finish painting the rest one day. So we have also here a late edition of Ultramarines centurions devestators and two captains. my new 1st company captain, and a 4th company captain as well they were some awesome forgeworld. I would so build them again. so I'll leave it to you and hope dear reader your going to provide some in site on what you would like to see? be it how to do fire and flames or how to cast bases? you tell me what you want to see. or I'll just add cat pictures everywhere.

Post #4? well lets keep at it

OK, well I do have a reoccurring theme here, my home has a few cats. so every post will have a picture of them. I thought it best. Looks like after some thought, and planning having army #4 of salamanders done at the same time as some wolves for my wife is the best bet; as forgeworld is not going to drop in price soon.
On to more pressing news. I am looking for basing ideas, I keep hearing that cork is a really nice solution, or shale. I'm enjoying making and casting my own bases. The learning curve is quite nice on those, and learning to use new and strange things in innovative ways has led to some unique bases. I am creative, but I am still new to making bases. what are some of the best used bits and parts you have added to making a base?

Well just a short post for today. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Post # 3, well why not. sounds like a blast.

Ok, not much in the way of pictures here on this post. Just a ramble. As I look at a 30k/w40k army of world eaters, as much fun as it would be to play I can't bring my self to get enthused about it. I think it was the Kharn model that forgeworld did it. There is something there I can't say, it just strikes me as offsetting. I still want the army. but I'd rather do Salamanders as I can have them up and done quite a bit faster, as its pure 40k. but I can add a few forgeworld pieces like the ashmantle and have it done eaiser. That and I have alot of GW parts already. And in truth I need a lot of melta and flamers for this army. I know what I want to do with it, and throwing in a few Forgeworld accent units for fun would add to the effect. So do I make another space marine army of fun, because honestly, marines are always fun. So I ask you dear reader, should I make my salamanders first or keep trying to collect my world eaters, even tho it will take 4x as long due to cost?  Comments please.

the ashmantle

well I did say I was going to post pictures of it once it was done. so here we go.

and as an added extra, my two tauros buggies done with weathering powders.
